Hello!
I was born and raised in Mexico City where you literally live and breathe the consequences of poor environmental management, the lack of comprehensive planning and their disproportionate effect on the most vulnerable sectors of the population. The high social cost of these issues is evident as is the urgency of improving living conditions while protecting the environment.
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy and Management the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance because I aspire to perform research that helps solve the environmental problems I have experienced in my life and studied over my career. My broad research interests are in studying the wider implications and connections between climate related decisions (in areas such as urban planning, transportation and water), as a way of understanding the relationship of climate mitigation and adaptation strategies to major development targets. I am especially interested in the health outcomes of climate mitigation policy.
In my free time, I like to go on long walks, social dance (anyone for salsa or lindy-hop?), take too many pictures and (when possible) travel.
